Fix "MAC address already in use" on Smart IPTV / Set IPTV / MAG

What "MAC address already in use" actually means, and the three fixes that work.

"MAC address already in use" appears when a MAC-activated IPTV service (Smart IPTV, Set IPTV, IBO Player, Stalker Portal/MAG) refuses to activate because the MAC you're registering is already tied to another account.

The three real causes

  1. You previously activated this TV with a different playlist. MAC activations are usually one-playlist-per-MAC. Contact the activation portal and request a playlist reset.
  2. You're registering a MAC that isn't yours. Some older guides advise typing "a MAC" manually — never do this. Always use the MAC the app itself displays on your TV.
  3. MAC collision with a previous TV owner. If you bought a used TV, its MAC may already be activated by the previous owner. Request a MAC reset or change the TV's MAC if the firmware supports it.

How to reset

Email the activation portal (siptv.app, setiptv.com, ibopro.app) with your MAC and a description. Most activation portals grant one free reset within the first 30 days of activation. Stalker-based providers (MAG boxes) usually require contacting your provider's support directly.
